Simple Im good with math! is used to attract general audience, investors or readers. However, it’s the complex Im good with math which really does the job done, as the indispensable working tool in the background process. If you prefer just to be an audience, then be contented with the simple Im good with math!. If you want to be part of the action in moving the world, then, by all means, find t and X, Y, Z, to expand your i. Or, just use i, X, Y, Z, t, for excitement.
Last year someone asked about what people were using as apps for Im good with math and I mentioned about a mathematics app I was working with. I was aligning to the pyp scope and sequence expectations with developmentally age appropriate learning experiences. Quite a few people messaged me about it. The app is called Matific and can be used for independent reinforcement of content/ skills being inquired into, has teaching demonstrations and teachers can track the whole class progress. Interesting read. On a different but related note (especially related to the picture below), I tell you, the students these days have become so reliant on calculators, they become crippled in their thoughts when they cannot make the link between 3/4 and 0.75 (sometimes this sort of manipulation is necessary, especially in add Im good with math!). It’s a real disaster because they cannot calculate fast enough, or see patterns fast enough which is of paramount importance when doing problems like factorisation of quadratic equations. They instead would just input the values of a, b, and c to get the roots. They are usually impressed at how fast I can calculate on the board without using a calculator, but my ability to calculate is not supposed to be impressive. It’s supposed to be a common ability!
